3daysofdesign Copenhagen: Getting Between Showrooms by Chauffeur

3daysofdesign is Copenhagen’s annual design festival, held each June, with hundreds of brands opening showrooms, galleries and pop-ups across the city. The heaviest clusters are in Indre By, Frederiksstaden, Vesterbro, Nordhavn and Refshaleøen. Buyers, architects and press often book a chauffeur by the hour (from €120/h) to hop between districts, carry samples and catalogues, and keep to a tight programme.

For three days the whole city becomes a design fair, which is wonderful and exhausting. Many showrooms are within walking distance of each other; others are 20 minutes apart across the harbour. A car that waits outside each stop, holds your bags and knows how to get around the pedestrian streets is the difference between 8 visits in a day and 15.

Plan your route by district

District What you’ll find Getting around
Indre By & Frederiksstaden Flagship showrooms, galleries, historic spaces Walkable core; car for hops across the centre
Vesterbro Studios, independent brands 10 minutes by car from the centre
Nordhavn Large showrooms and HQs 15–20 minutes
Refshaleøen Industrial venues and installations 15–20 minutes; limited taxis

Dates, programme and maps are on the official 3daysofdesign website.
