Your rights (EU261)
For flights departing from the EU, or arriving in the EU on an EU carrier, EU Regulation 261/2004 gives passengers rights when flights are delayed, cancelled or overbooked:
- Care: meals and refreshments, and a hotel plus transport if you’re delayed overnight.
- Rerouting or refund for cancellations.
- Compensation in many cases of long delays or cancellations, unless there were extraordinary circumstances.
