A private transfer from Copenhagen Airport to Aarhus covers about 310 km and takes 3 to 3.5 hours. The route runs across Zealand, over the Great Belt Bridge and up through Funen and East Jutland. We quote one fixed price including the bridge toll, VAT and a comfort stop, with meet & greet in the CPH arrivals hall and a door-to-door drop-off anywhere in Aarhus.

Aarhus, Denmark's second city, has its own small airport, but most international travellers to East Jutland fly into Copenhagen because the choice of long-haul connections is far greater. That leaves a three-hour journey to plan after a long flight. The train is good, but it involves a change, luggage on platforms and a taxi at the other end. A chauffeur makes the whole journey door to door: you sleep, work or watch the Danish countryside go by.

Route and journey time

StageDistanceTime
CPH → Great Belt Bridge (Korsør) via the E20~115 km~1 h 10 min
Great Belt Bridge → Odense → Lillebælt~80 km~50 min
Lillebælt → Aarhus via the E45~115 km~1 h 10 min
Total, door to door~310 km3–3.5 h

The Great Belt (Storebælt) Bridge toll for a car is DKK 235 when paid by card at the booth, according to Sund & Bælt. It is included in our price. An alternative route takes the fast ferry from Sjællands Odde to Aarhus. It suits some itineraries, but departures are fixed, so for most airport arrivals the bridge route is simpler and more reliable.

Mercedes EQS electric car used for long-distance transfers from Copenhagen to Aarhus
The Mercedes EQS has the range and quiet cabin for the three-hour drive to Aarhus.

Why a private car instead of the train?

  • Door to door. The train from the airport usually needs a change in Copenhagen and ends at Aarhus H, and you still need a taxi from there.
  • Luggage stays in the boot, with no lifting cases onto racks.
  • Timing follows your flight, not the timetable. Late arrivals and delays don't matter.
  • For groups it's often cheaper than several first-class train tickets plus taxis.
  • Privacy to work: take calls and prepare for meetings.

Popular Aarhus destinations

Aarhus city centre and the Latin Quarter; the Aarhus Ø waterfront; Aarhus University; business parks in Skejby and Brabrand; ARoS Aarhus Art Museum; Den Gamle By open-air museum; and the Mols Bjerge National Park area. We also drive to Silkeborg, Randers, Horsens and Skanderborg (for Smukfest).

Aarhus Airport (AAR) transfers

Flying into Aarhus Airport in Tirstrup, about 45 km north-east of the city, or out of it? We pick up and drop off there too, and can combine an AAR arrival with an onward journey to Copenhagen or anywhere in Jutland. For other Jutland airports, see Esbjerg and Aalborg airport transfers.

Comfort on the way

We plan a short comfort stop (usually at a service area on Funen) and, on request, a lunch stop in Odense or at a restaurant along the way. Water, Wi-Fi and chargers are on board, and child seats are free. Our electric cars charge during the stop at high-power chargers, so the journey time barely changes.

“Our train got stopped in Slagelse about 1.5 hrs outside of Copenhagen. We needed to make a ferry and Usman was very nice, calm, and helpful during this stressful situation. Our driver was Shoaib and he was very nice and professional. The vehicle was clean.”

Price

We quote the Copenhagen Airport to Aarhus transfer as one fixed price per vehicle, based on the car class and your exact address, including the Great Belt toll, VAT and waiting at CPH. A 7-seat V-Class for a family or team usually works out at a very reasonable price per person. See all long-distance routes and our standard prices.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to drive from Copenhagen Airport to Aarhus?

About 3 to 3.5 hours for the roughly 310 km journey via the Great Belt Bridge, depending on traffic and stops.

Is the Great Belt Bridge toll included?

Yes. The toll (DKK 235 for a car paying by card at the booth) is included in our fixed price.

Is it better to take the train or a private transfer to Aarhus?

The train is cheaper for a solo traveller with light luggage. A private transfer is door to door, follows your flight and is often better value for families, groups and business travellers.

Can you pick me up at Aarhus Airport?

Yes. We provide transfers to and from Aarhus Airport (AAR) in Tirstrup, including onward journeys to Copenhagen.

Can we stop for lunch on the way to Aarhus?

Yes. Tell us when booking and we'll plan a lunch stop, for example in Odense.

"Smoothest airport transfer we've had!"

We landed in Copenhagen late at night, and our driver from Copenhagen Services was already waiting for us with a name sign. The car was spotless, the driver was polite, and the ride to our hotel was incredibly smooth. No stress, no delays — just perfect. Highly recommend their airport transfer service!

"Perfect choice for traveling with kids!"

We booked a chauffeured car for a week while visiting Copenhagen with our two young children. Our driver was not only professional but also very kind and patient. The vehicle was spacious and had room for all our luggage and even a car seat. It made moving around the city so much easier and more enjoyable.

"Incredible private sightseeing experience!"

We booked a custom city tour through Copenhagen Services, and it was the highlight of our trip. Our chauffeur took us to all the iconic spots — Nyhavn, The Little Mermaid, Amalienborg — and even some hidden gems we would have never found on our own. It was luxurious, informative, and incredibly comfortable!
