Copenhagen has become a favourite summer escape for families from the Gulf: long, light evenings, a mild climate, safe streets, excellent shopping and an easy base for trips into Denmark and Sweden. Families travelling together often have specific needs: several vehicles, lots of luggage, privacy for female family members, and a chauffeur who understands the rhythm of the day. We plan around all of that.
Copenhagen's luxury shopping is concentrated and easy by car: Illum and Magasin du Nord department stores, luxury brands on Østergade and Kongens Nytorv, Danish design at Illums Bolighus and the Royal Copenhagen flagship, and the jewellers of Strøget. Your chauffeur drops you at each entrance and keeps shopping bags in the car. Non-EU visitors can reclaim VAT on qualifying purchases when leaving the EU.
Copenhagen has a good choice of halal restaurants, particularly in Vesterbro and Nørrebro, and many international restaurants can cater to halal requirements on request. There are mosques in the city, including the Hamad Bin Khalifa Civilisation Center in Nørrebro. Your chauffeur can plan the day around prayer times and suggest restaurants.
